Chapter Twenty-three

On page 182, Ida thinks, "'Good job,' my heart told me.  'You won again.'"  Is she right?  Please make a strong effort to explain in detail how you feel about this.

  1. I don't think Ida won the argument. Her father was angry at her about telling them about the people who moved onto the land and cut the trees down. They never finished the conversation because Ida stomped off and left the room.

  3. Ida didn't win if you ask me because she stormed off before the argument was even finished and like Julia said "how can someone win a argument when it never finished."

  9. you cant win an arguement its not finished and its not her choice her parents didnt want to sell the land, they needed to help her mother get better. Its not her land any more it must be sad but you can't go on with life if you stick with being mad.

  10. I think ida did not win because she stomped off but the pain in her left knee might just be because she knows she really did not win.
