Chapter Fourteen
Why was Herbert's motivation for finding Ida? What exactly (in your own words) did he tell her? Why would he do this?
I think Herbert's motivation for finding Ida was because of his dad telling the school board that motivated him to go and see her. He told her that his dad was really mad at him and he thinks that his dad doesn't want him to get a better education then he did. And he asked her if she liked him more then Tom. I think he would do all this because he might have a crush on her and he wanted to see if she was okay, because of the school closing down.
I think Herbert's motivation for finding Ida was to tell her that it was his dads fault that the school closed. He told her it was his dad's fault and he didn't want everyone to think it was his fault that the school closed.
